Consistent results, as usual

I've used World Labs for a few different projects now, mostly for generative 3D assets. This time, I needed some more synthetic data for robots. The quality was right there with what I got before. The platform is reliable, always delivers. That's why I keep coming back.

Got into the beta program

So I got on the waitlist for Marble a while back, and finally got in! It was pretty cool, got to mess around with some immersive world building tools. It's not fully baked yet, obviously, since it's a beta, but it felt really intuitive to use. Just signed up on their site, waited a bit, then got the invite. Nice to try out new tech like that without any hassle.

Good value from beta program

I joined the beta program to check out the pixel-to-3d conversion. Wasn't sure what to expect, but since it was free access, I figured why not. The conversion quality was better than I thought it would be for the price (which was zero!). Definitely felt like I got good value for the time I put in. It's practical for what I needed without spending anything upfront.

API access and support experience

I signed up for the developer SDK and requested API credits for a project involving interactive 3D environments. The onboarding process was straightforward, though it took about 3 days to get full API access after my request was approved. The documentation for the spatial perception APIs was pretty thorough, which helped a lot with integration. I had one minor issue with a specific call, and their support team responded within 24 hours with a helpful solution. The output quality for the 3D world generation was robust and met our project's needs well. Delivery of the generated assets was fast once the API calls were made. Overall, a solid experience from start to finish.

How do you even get started with World Labs? Is there just a 'sign up' button, or is it more like an invite thing?

K Kate Foster 2 months ago
It's mostly a waitlist and invitation system for Marble. You gotta sign up for the waitlist first.

Yeah, not a simple 'buy now' thing. Get on the waitlist, that's step one. They onboard people in waves, from what I've seen.

Are there any student or academic discounts for World Labs? I'm doing some research and this could be huge.

A Amber Reyes 2 months ago
They definitely have something for academics. I think I saw 'academic license' mentioned somewhere. Worth looking into.

Yeah, they do offer special licenses or grants for academic researchers. Not a typical discount code, but a specific program for sure.

Is World Labs similar to Midjourney or Runway? I'm looking for something to generate 3D stuff but don't want to just duplicate what I already have.

M Marcus Kaur 2 months ago
It's different for sure. Midjourney is mostly images. World Labs is all about 3D worlds and spatial intelligence, much more complex than just generating a pretty picture.

They're in a different league. Midjourney is 2D image generation. World Labs is about making whole 3D environments, perception, and even robotics training stuff. Way more intricate and focused on spatial AI.

What's the deal with their coupon policy? Are there ever any discount codes floating around for Black Friday or anything?

R Rosa 1 month ago
Nah, traditional coupons aren't really their style. It's more about getting into their beta or early access programs for value.

I've never seen a coupon code for World Labs. Their 'deals' are usually free beta access or developer credits if you get in early. It's not like a regular e-commerce store with discount codes.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting access to Marble. Does anyone know if they offer free API credits for developers, or is it all paid from the start?

E Emma Whitfield 2 months ago
Yeah, they totally do. I got some free credits when I signed up for the beta program, it was pretty sweet to try stuff out.

I think they usually give out some free credits if you get in through the waitlist or one of their programs. Direct discounts aren't really their thing, but early access often comes with perks.

Has anyone used World Labs for game dev? Like, for commercial stuff? Wondering if their license allows it or if it's more for academic/research projects.

D Dan Q. 2 months ago
I've seen some indie devs talking about it. Pretty sure you can, but you'd want to double check their terms for commercial use.

S Shane 2 months ago
They're definitely pushing for broader applications, including commercial. From what I understand, a lot of their tools are built for generating assets and environments that can be used in games, so I'd be surprised if they restricted it.
